Members of the You Can Do It Crew, an online help service for DIYers, will be on hand daily from Good Friday to Easter Monday for the first time.


A huge increase is expected in the number of DIY enthusiasts rolling up their sleeves and making the most of the long weekend to get on with some home improvements, and B&Q's customer service team plans to take full advantage. The DIY chain claims to be the only home retailer in the UK to offer this service on Easter Sunday, and says it will be the only place someone with a home improvement question can obtain advice.

The You Can Do It Crew will be trialled over the Easter weekend and if successful will be rolled out over all future Bank Holidays. Customers can call a hotline, upload dilemmas to B&Q's Facebook page or tweet using #howdoi.

B&Q's Marketing Director Katherine Paterson said: "We know how frustrating it can be when you're all geared up to get stuck into DIY, but instead seem to get stuck half way through. We've launched our You Can Do It Crew to help inspire the nation with the skills and confidence to get stuck in, have a go and revel in the moment they can turn back with pride and say 'I did that'."
