The solar garden product supplier is celebrating an "outstanding" year, as it reports a 100% increase in sales to garden centres in 2011.

The firm supplies lighting, water features and aquatics but has seen particularly high growth in decorative lighting - an area it has invested heavily in product development and merchandising.

Smart Solar md Jonathan Stobart said that sales of decorative lighting products have been outstanding, boosted by investment in new POS units. Its bird spotlights also featured in the Garden Trade News Bestsellers chart, which identifies the top 50 best selling products in the industry.

Jonathan adds, "Our new range of decorative lighting has brought in sales all year round and gives garden centres additional opportunity to sell solar products during the autumn months."
