Town & Country employee to run marathon for industry charity
The gardening supplier’s area sales manager Louise Cross has pledged to raise £1,000 for Greenfingers by running the London Marathon next month dressed as a dragonfly.
Louise Cross still needs around £400 of donations to reach her fundraising goal
Inspired by the Garden Re-Leaf Day initiative, which kicks off tomorrow (March 13) and a personal ambition to run the iconic marathon before she hits 30, Louise has already raised over £600.
She said: "My Greenfingers T-shirt has just arrived and I'm looking forward to wearing it on the big day and doing my best for this amazing charity.
"I've seen the incredible work the charity has done to create a beautiful 'Quiet Garden' at the Naomi House hospice in Winchester which is close to where I live. They have designed a wonderful calm and tranquil area with a water feature, paved seating area and stunning wooden screen.
To ensure she stands out from the crowd, Louise has pledged to run the 26.2m race in fancy dress and, in keeping with the gardening theme, will be dressed as a dragonfly.
