Superbrand Dulux transforms London into a 'dogwalk'
The paint firm has been named number eight in the list of 500 top superbrands for 2012, and today eight models, each accessorized with a shaggy-haired Dulux dog, took to the streets of London to celebrate.

It's the first time in Dulux history that the brand has been named in the top ten superbrand list, which is compiled from a survey of 2,000 British adults following an independent selection process undertaken by the Centre for Brand Analysis. Consumer and B2B brands are judged on quality, reliability and distinction among other features.

With its ranking of eighth out of 500 superbrands, Dulux beat John Lewis, Marks and Spencer and Apple.

Timed to follow on from London Fashion Week, Dulux's celebratory dog walk through the capital featured models in 1960s-inspired dresses in some of the paint brand's most popular colours, including 'Fire Cracker 3', 'Bermuda Cocktail 2' and 'Sulphur Springs 4.'

Dulux's UK marketing director Letty Edwards said: "Dulux has been bringing colour to people's lives for over 50 years and holds a unique relationship with British consumers.

"The superbrands ranking is an indicator of the huge amount of affection and trust people have for the brand - and we feel constantly proud to be helping our customers transform and improve their homes."

Chairman of the superbrands expect council Stephen Cheliotis said: "A superbrand is one which constantly delivers excellence and quality, and this year's consumer poll reflects this.

"It is a huge achievement that Dulux has made the 2012 list, revealing its influence on today's consumers."
