AkzoNobel becomes RDT Partner

The global paints and coatings company, whose UK portfolio includes well-known brands such as Dulux, Cuprinol, Polycell and Hammerite, has taken annual membership of the scheme, which costs £1,000 and delivers a package of publicity benefits.

AkzoNobel managing director Guy Williams said: "As a major force in the UK DIY industry we are absolutely committed to supporting the Rainy Day Trust, the only charity which exists solely to help people who have worked in our industry. We have actively supported RDT for many years with our fundraising and donations and really do encourage other companies to also show their support."

The Rainy Day Trust assists people who have spent a significant part of their working lives in the home improvement industry and now find they need a helping hand. Since 2003, the charity has given away more than £1m through annual pensions and one-off grants, nearly all of it raised through the generosity of companies like AkzoNobel.
