Homeform to appoint administrators, putting 1,300 jobs at risk
Kitchen, bedroom and bathroom group Homeform has filed a notice of intention to appoint administrators.The parent company of Moben Kitchens, Dolphin Bathrooms, Sharps Bedrooms and Kitchens Direct is owned by private equity investor Sun European Partners.
The group recently announced a major investment programme, with new concept showrooms and refurbishment of existing showrooms planned for the near future.
However, yesterday the company released the following statement: "The board of Homeform Group Limited have today filed with the court a notice of intention to appoint an administrator. This process can take up to ten working days. At present, the Homeform Group remains under the control of its directors.
"The directors are close to securing a deal that will safeguard the future of the Sharps Bedrooms and Kitchens Direct businesses and have mandated advisers to seek a sale of the Moben and Dolphin brands. Further information will be provided in due course."
Based in Manchester, the company has 160 showrooms across the UK and has more than 1,300 employees, as well as 1,500 self-employed fitters and designers.
