Coatings company selected as primary paint supplier for Walmart's 3,500-plus US stores.
Akzo's paint range will be stocked in more than 3,500 Walmart stores across the US
The agreement, which was announced by Akzo Nobel today, builds on an existing relationship with Walmart for paints in Puerto Rico and Canada as well as the supply of Liquid Nails adhesives in the US.
Akzo Nobel, famous for its Dulux, Glidden and Sadolin decorative brands, will develop and manufacture a portfolio of interior and exterior paints for more than 3,500 Walmart stores throughout the United States.
Akzo Nobel board member responsible for decorative paints Tex Gunning said: "This is an excellent opportunity for us to work with Walmart and offer their customers an exciting new in-store program. This is a landmark deal, which will significantly boost our market share in the US and contribute to further enhancing the value of our Glidden brand there."
Walmart also operates UK supermarket chain Asda, which has 270 outlets across the UK, including 24 Asda Living stores, which focus on home and electrical, as well as its George clothing range, as well as homeware, electrical and music and video.
