Home retail chain set to create 1,800 new jobs including Christmas staff and permanent positions.


Matalan has announced plans to take on 300 permanent staff at its new branches at Cheetham Hill in Manchester, Elgin in Morayshire and Colindale, North London. The retailer will also hire 1,500 temporary workers for the Christmas period.

The three new stores are part of an expansion programme, which could see as many as 100 additional outlets over the next few years.
