New chairman for Wyevale
The Board of Wyevale has announced the appointment of Andrew Sells as chairman, replacing Sir Tom Hunter.

New chairman for Wyevale

Mr Sells' career started in investment banking, before he moved into venture capital, running Sovereign Capital from 1990 to 2000. He was also chairman of Linden Homes for 16 years until it was sold to Galliford Try in 2007.

In 2003 he was elected a trustee of the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) and last year he was appointed RHS treasurer - in line with recent reports that the Board was looking for a chairman with more gardening credentials.

Commenting on Mr Sells' appointment Wyevale ceo Nicholas Marshall said "In Andrew Sells we have found a chairman with the unique combination of significant experience of growth businesses and a real commitment and passion for horticulture. I am delighted to welcome him to the Board".

Sir Tom Hunter, who is stepping down from the position of chairman agreed, "I am delighted we have found someone of Andrew's calibre to chair Wyevale. I would like to wish him and the team all the best."

Mr Sells added "The new management team has brought real focus to Wyevale both in-store and in its operating disciplines. Nicholas and his team have a proven track record of running highly successful garden retailing businesses and I relish the opportunity to be working with such a respected and horticulturally-focused team".

Grafted Tomato plant
By Sheila Brooks
Dear Mr Marshall

I bought a grafted tomato plant from Wendover, World End Garden Centre, it had been reduced to 1.99 also Bulbourne Garden Centre were 1.99. I visited my daugher in Albrighton, West Midlands knowing there was a Wyevale there thought I would buy one for her, I did not because they were 3.99, I did enquire if they were sure that was correct. I would like to know why the difference please?

Looking forward to you reply.

Yours sincerely
Mrs Sheila Brooks

Wyevale woking surrey
By Doug Walton
How very surprised I was to be told and understand to be correct that Wyevale woking allowed a car wash to be sited on their property without planning permission and also to build a canopy without I understand planning permission on this either
It does not put Wyevale in a good position with the residents of the area when things like this happen
Can you set the record straight
