Ironmongery Direct to reach £10m target
Essex-based ironmongery business reveals 40% increase in turnover in Q1 figures.

Ironmongery Direct has revealed a 40% like-for-like increase in turnover for the first quarter.
The sales boost means that the company is on track to meet its turnover target of £10m in 2009.

The accounts also showed that profits were up £41,000 on last year. Despite the economic downturn, Ironmongery Direct reported that March 2009 was the best sales month ever recorded.

Ironmongery Direct's managing director, Wayne Lysaght-Mason said: "I am delighted with our first quarter results as it reflects all the hard work that has been put in to make customer service and best value products top priority."
