Wolf-Garten GmbH announces insolvency
German gardening tool manufacturer experiencing ‘severe cash flow problems’ as it calls in administrators – but UK division remains unaffected.

Wolf-Garten GmbH announces insolvency

Despite what the company has referred to as a 'successful year', Wolf-Garten has been placed in the hands of the administrators due to its struggling finances.

Company spokesman Manfred Eckermeier said that 200 Wolf-Garten employees at its Betzdorf factory are in fear over their jobs.

However, directors remain optimistic that the business won't go under. "There are a number of conversations underway with possible strategic investors," Mr Eckermeier explained.

The UK division of Wolf-Garten is currently unaffected by events in Germany and the stock situation is described as being 'under control', with a large amount in a UK warehouse to see the firm through until production is resumed in Germany.

Personnel at the Worcester office have been told to continue working and that it is business as usual until further information is provided from the German parent company.

Customers are advised to call the customer services helpline at Worcester on 01905 353308 for information.

Wolf-Garten was established in 1922 and supplies garden tools and equipment to 35 countries internationally.
