Powertek DIYtools.com gutted by fire
Watford-based tool supplier suffers heavy damage following a suspicious fire last week.More than 80 firefighters were called to put out a blaze at Powertek's tool business on Thursday, November 20.
Powertek owner Andy Dhruva was informed of the incident just after midnight as 15 Hertfordshire fire crews battled to get the fire under control at the tool outlet situated opposite Bushey Rail station.
A Fire Service spokeswoman said that 75% of the building was on fire by the time the engines arrived and, unfortunately, as a result, more than three quarters of the ground and first floor of the building was destroyed.
Crew commander Adrian Parker praised the efforts of the firefighters who attended, managing to get the blaze under control in two hours using an aerial platform and thermal imaging. However, he added that the building is 'heavily smoked and there is extensive fire damage'.
Watford CID is treating the incident as suspicious and are appealing to anyone with information to come forward. Detective are particularly keen to speak to two young males, aged between 16 and 19, who were seen 'walking past the scene' around the time of the fire.

Pointless their website saying its being updated.Beter if they said there was a fire. I had an order for 3 items valued at 300+. Went elsewhere as i thought they were going or gone bust.

I think we should find the people who done it so we can reopen the business as it has been a sad loss.
