B&Q go for Gold
Two B&Q employees have been selected to represent Great Britain at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.
Top: Blake Aldridge, Bottom: Steve Scott
Double-trap shooter Steve Scott, 23, who works at the Bexhill branch of B&Q, only started shooting six years ago but has gone from strength to strength, winning the World and European Team Championships in 2003 and individual bronze at the European Championships in 2007. He also traveled to the Athens Olympics in 2004 as an official reserve.
25-year old synchro diver Blake Aldridge, a member of staff at Nursfield B&Q in Southampton, and his synchro partner Tom Daley also qualified for the games, which will be held in August this year.
Mr Aldridge, who learnt to dive at the age of five, has medalled at every European Championship that he has competed in as a senior and secured Great Britain's first ever World Series gold medal on home turf in the 10m diving final at the FINA World Cup earlier this year.
Both athletes, part of Team B&Q, are delighted at the news and have high hopes of bringing back a medal.
Mr Scott said: "I just hope that I can do everyone proud, especially my work colleagues, and bring back a medal."
