The awards recognise and reward retailers who have achieved success in many retail disciplines including management, marketing, trading performance, and training.

Stax joint managing director, David Hibbert, said: "The retail arena is a tough and competitive marketplace and these awards allow the industry to recognise and celebrate those retailers, both large and small, who have shown excellence in a particular field."

He continued: "A number of Stax customers have previously won awards and benefited from resulting PR and an increased profile and, as a wholesaler committed to helping retailers succeed in their field, Stax is delighted to be sponsoring the awards for the fifth year running."

Any retailer in the diy, garden and housewares market sectors is eligible to apply.

External judges experienced in retail assess all the entries on the basis of originality, creativity and imagination, attention to detail, follow-through, and results!

The winners will receive their awards at a celebratory black-tie dinner at the Hilton Manchester Deansgate, which this year will be held on Wednesday November 7, 2007.

The organisers – DIY Week, Hardware & Garden Review, and Housewares Magazine – are still accepting applications for the awards.
