Blooms accepts Sir Tom Hunter's £30m offer
Investment group's acquisition ends speculation

Sir Tom Hunter's WCC (Floris) investment vehicle has acquired Blooms garden centres for £30.2m.

The purchase ends months of speculation from city analysts and investors, who will now turn their sights on Sir Tom's interest in Dobbies.

It is believed some senior members of the management team at Wyevale Garden Centres have chipped in with the bid along with banking group HboS and Baugur, the Icelandic investment company.

Blooms chairman Charles Good said in a statement the garden sector's 'period of accelerating change means there are clear benefits from joining forces'.

WCC said the acquisition is 'logical' and a good chance to 'strengthen its position in a competitive and still fragmented marketplace'.
