New Product Award winners announced at Totally Shows

A host of suppliers were honoured yesterday at a special reception for the New Product Awards at this week's Totally DIY and Totally Tools Shows.
New Product Award winners announced at Totally Shows
Sponsored by DIY Week, the awards are designed to recognise the most innovative new lines showcased at the event, with the independent panel of judges also being asked to consider product quality, function and price.

Gold and Silver awards were presented in six categories: garden, DIY, tools, decorative, security and hardware.

In the first, Silver went to Bosch for its Indego cordless robotic lawnmower. "Twice a day it cuts your lawn, rain or shine," said the judges, adding: "It's Bosch, so it's got to be good." Gold went to the Footee Laddermat, which the judges liked because it is British-made, innovative and strong. "Why hasn't it been done before?" they asked.

This year's judges were Vin Vara of The Tool Shop, Martin Brown from Axminster, Christian McFarquahar from One Stop DIY, David Jenkins from Cotham Hardware and Nicholas Rickard from B&Q. DIY Week would like to extend its thanks to all of them for their time and expertise.

Find out who the other winners were in the New Product Awards in the next issue of DIY Week - out on Friday.
