New president for Rainy Day Trust
Ashley Leboff took over as president of the Rainy Day Trust at the Trust's agm on May 1. Mr Leboff is the managing director of the marketing consultancy Penashe, and the organiser of the annual DIY Dinner in London which is the Trust's biggest fund-raising event.

He was formerly the marketing manager at S. Leboff (Fobel) Ltd, the hardware and timber distributor, and has been an active member of the trade charity for 20 years.

"It has been my privilege to have been associated with an industry that comprises some of the most genuine and generous people one could wish to meet," said Mr Leboff.

"Every month it raises thousands of pounds supporting indisputably worthwhile causes. If only, over the next few years, we can encourage some of those same fund raisers to set aside but a small percentage for the RDT – our own trade charity – then I believe our efforts will have been truly worthwhile."

He succeeds John Poore of Poore's of Acton, who has completed two years as president and was previously the Trust's longstanding honorary treasurer.

The new vice-president is Colin Petty, publisher of Faversham House Group's Home Improvement Division.
