New offer, new look for Alton Home Hardware

Published: 11 August 2015
A Hampshire hardware independent recently enjoyed a re-launch to celebrate an expansion and makeover of its offer and an impressive new shop layout.
New offer, new look for Alton Home Hardware
Alton Home Hardware has been serving the local community since 2006, when owners Adrian Winnicott and David Wagg opened the branch in the High Street.

Said Mr Winnicott: "Our stores have an excellent reputation for offering good service and we never stop listening to our customers, so with the positive feedback received, Alton has recently embraced the demand for new product ranges and store layout."

The improvements include the introduction of timber, increasing the DIY products as well as loose ironmongery and expanding the cookware department. To accommodate the new ranges, the store has been redesigned with a new till area and layout, maximising the display areas whilst creating a more open look.

David Wagg added: "We were pleased to attend a visual display training session with Home Hardware last year, and found the trainers specialised in store layout too, so we engaged them to rethink the Alton store. We're delighted with the results!"

To celebrate the new look, Alton had a re-launch weekend from August 7-9, which provided the perfect opportunity to introduce its new store loyalty card. Customers also appreciated the exclusive offers, goody bags and the free raffle to win a gas barbecue.

Messrs Winnicott and Wagg now have seven independent hardware shops across Hampshire and West Sussex, in Alton, Romsey, Emsworth, Rowlands Castle, Midhurst, Petworth and Billingshurst. All trade under the Home Hardware brand, but the latter three have also kept their former Austen's name.
