National Children's Gardening Week launched

Published: 5 March 2020 - Alex Fordham

National Children’s Gardening Week (NCGW) promotes gardening to the general public and encourages garden centres across the UK to hold events throughout the week of 23-31 May 2020.

The aim of NCGW is to get as many schools, children and their families involved, gardening and having fun in their gardens. This year Pippa Greenwood, HTA Horticultural Manager, has devised lots of fun activities to aid parents, guardians and schools with ideas.

The school gardening competition was very popular in 2019 with over 300 schools getting involved. This year the competition will be ‘Grass Caterpillars’, also devised by Pippa Greenwood, which will give children the opportunity to reuse old tights and socks and get creative!
