Following official approval for its acquisition of Wolf-Garten GmbH, MTD is preparing for the takeover at the beginning of September.
US-based MTD was founded in 1932 and manufactures motorised garden tools. MTD Products AG chairman Peter Janssen explained that nothing would change. He said: "Wolf-Garten remains an independent brand with an independent market presence."
He continued: "In Germany as well as in all other European markets Wolf-Garten and MTD customers can be reliably supplied with products from Wolf-Garten and MTD factories. Even the after-sales service and the service department is optimally secured."
The acquisition also includes the Wolf-Garten sites at Betzdorf, St Wendel and Etzbach.
