The Peterlee branch of builders' merchant MKM has donated a raft of materials to a project being undertaken by BBC television's DIY SOS: The Big Build series.
MKM responds to BBC's DIY SOS plea
In the programmes, presenter Nick Knowles and his team take on building work that aims to transform the lives of householders in need, and invite local companies and tradesmen to donate supplies.

MKM stepped in to help when the show crew arrived in the north-east hoping to make a difference for disabled woman June Finlay, who was living with inadequate facilities at home. The company chiefly donated materials for a new garden, including railway sleepers, planters, Astro-Turf and a pergola, and was happy to oblige as the team regularly arrived at the merchant's for more merchandise over the nine-day filming period.

The programme is due to go out next year.
