MICA award nominees revealed

MICA retailers will gather for their annual mix of business and pleasure in the Channel Islands next week for the Mica Gala Dinner & Awards evening. Mica has announced exclusively to DIY Week the nominees in four of the categories for its 2016 Member and Supplier Awards.

 

The event, to be held for the first time across the water in St. Helier, will include a presentation from Paul Bagnall on outcomes of the ‘Hand it Over to Henkel’ partnership with Kennedy’s MICA Hardware, and the after dinner speaker – the South African retail futurist Graeme Codrington.

The nominees are being announced following voting and submissions by MICA membership over the summer:

Supplier Awards

Teamwork Award

The Mica Membership nominate suppliers whose Account Manager or Representative has gone the extra mile in the last year.

Nominees: Akzo Nobel, Crown Paints, RKW & Whatmore UK

 

Supplier of the Year

Suppliers nominated based on their overall performance taking into account product quality & innovation, value for money, stock availability & customer service.

Nominees: Draper Tools, FPS, LG Harris & Stax Trade Centres

 

Retailer Awards

Promotional Excellence
Mica shops nominated based on their window and point of sale displays through the year.

Nominees: David Neill Mica DIY & Home, Halls Mica Hardware, Mainlys of Devizes Mica, Merlin Mica Hardware

 

Mica Achiever

Mica shops nominated based on their growth and purchasing commitment during the year.                       

Nominees: Bics Mica DIY, Eathornes Mica Hardware, Homepoint Mica Local, Mainlys Mica Hardware

The winners of these and other awards; including the usual Co-operative Spirit Award will be revealed on Sunday 25th September. The evening is set to also include a few surprises to celebrate the groups twenty years of bringing retailers and suppliers together in the UK. The evening will also feature a raffle for Mica’s charity partner the Rainy Day Trust, which Akzo Nobel, Percy Doughty & Mica have provided prizes for.
