Lily Bowl wins garden designers award

Published: 29 September 2015
The Lily Bowl from Urbis Design has been named as the Society of Garden Designers (SGD) Product of the Year 2015.
Lily Bowl wins garden designers award
The award was determined by votes from SGD members and visitors to this month's Landscape Show in London, where the eight shortlisted products were displayed for public view.

Described as a "pond in a pot" by broadcaster and designer Joe Swift, the versatile Lily Bowl can be used as a statement water bowl or a feature planter. It comes in a wide range of finishes, from stony limestone and concrete to hammered slate and verdigris.

Urbis products are designed and manufactured in-house at a studio near York. The company utilises an advanced glass-reinforced concrete technology that enables it to produce substantial architectural statements with a fraction of the weight of conventional cast concrete.

In addition to plant containers the company produces furniture and modular garden systems.

Second place in the competition went to Schellevis Beton for its paving and landscape elements, and in third place was Harrod Horticultural for its lichen green obelisk.
