"Rock, Paper, Scissors" is the most popular of a subset of games played using only your hands. It was invented in the late 19th century and acquired popularity world-wide throughout the 20th century.

The Rules

The game starts by both players making fists and then pumping them up and down in front of each other.

On the third down stroke, each player moves their fingers to make a rock, paper or scissors.

· Rock is a clenched fist
· Paper is an open hand
· Scissors is a hand with index and middle fingers making a V

The winner is determined by:

· Scissors cuts Paper - Scissors win
· Paper covers Rock - Paper wins
· Rock breaks Scissors - Rock wins

Two of them same are considered a tie.

On DIY Week

Challenging for the first time

Start a new challenge by following the Start a new challenge link?

Enter your name, company, motto (displayed during the game and on high-scores), your email address and the email of the person you wish to play.

You will then be sent an email which contains a link you must click on to validate your address. This stops spammers from abusing the system.

You will then be asked to enter your moves. On the DIY Week version, there are three rounds, you must enter a 'move' for each round.

You must then wait for your opponent to play, when you will receive an email telling you that your game is complete. Follow the link to view the results.

Being challenged

You will receive an email asking if you want to play. If you do then follow the link. If you are a first time player, you will be asked to fill in your details (as above) and then asked to make your moves. You will then be taken straight to the results screen and an email sent to your opponent informing them that the game is ready to view.

If you are an existing player, you will asked to make your move right away after following the email link.

Rematch
