Timber garden buildings manufacturer Mercia Garden Products has recently invested in improving its IT systems, including a new delivery planning system (DPS)

The company, which makes up to 80,000 buildings per annum covering a range of about 100 SKUs, says 99% of its deliveries are direct dispatch to consumers, undertaken on behalf of its retail customers.

The new DPS allows them to plan on the lowest lead time, and works in conjunction with driver PDAs which they can use to scan loads on and off, ensuring ultimate delivery service and accuracy
