Industry names go-kart for RDT

Published: 16 June 2016
Seventeen teams of competitive karters sweltered on the hottest day of the year at Team Sport Go Karting in Warrington as they battled it out to win one of the many trophies in the 2016 Rainy Day Trust Karting Challenge.
It was a day of records - with record temperatures, a record number of black flags and a record amount of over £4,500 raised for the industry charity The Rainy Day Trust. Newcomers to the event Ariel Plastics walked away with the winning team trophy with Ronseal securing second place and the Stax team, led by David Hibbert, third.

In the individual awards it was father and son Nick and Jeff Pile who triumphed with first place awarded to Nick Pile from Myerson Solicitors, second place to Jeff Pile from Ariel Plastics and third place to David Hibbert. The fastest lady award was presented to Debbie Halls from Stax Trade Centres.

With some very competitive racers determined to settle old scores the black flag was waved more times than ever before with Ben Jones, from Workhouse Marketing reluctantly accepting the coveted Bent Axle trophy.

Stax Trade Centres joint MD David Hibbert organised of the event. He said: "It was another great day with some fantastic racing. As usual there were some highly competitive racers and some close fought races throughout the day. I am delighted with the amount of money raised for the charity and would like to thank all the companies who paid to enter a team and support this event."
