Ikea sees huge spike in sales of outdoor garden furnishings
Sales of popular ranges Applaro, Falster and Hallo rose by 243% compared to January to March last year, with Ikea seeing an overall uplift in sales of 35% across the entire outdoor range.

Individual best sellers include the Tarno folding chair which has sold 55% more than last year and the Tarno folding table which sold 44% more.

The waterproof Falster furniture range proved a big hit among customers as sales rose by 70% compared to the same period last year.

Ikea UK and Ireland's outdoor furniture sales leader, Debora Wood said: "Following an appalling start to 2014 things are finally looking-up, as Britons banish the winter jackets, bin their brollies and head outdoors and into their gardens to enjoy some long awaited sunny weather.

"The great thing about our outdoor range is that we offer a wide range of multifunctional pieces. Our new space-saving Askholmen balcony table is semi-circle shaped and takes up less space, maximizing even the smallest of spaces."
