Iain Wylie takes over GCA

Published: 1 October 2012
Iain Wylie, previously MD of Grosvenor Garden Centre, has taken on the position of interim chief executive of the Garden Centre Association.
Iain Wylie takes over GCA
He takes over from Phil Slinger, who will now be pursuing other business opportunities. Mr Wylie, who left Grosvenor following its acquisition by Blue Diamond earlier this year, will stay in the position until the GCA Conference in January.

Chairman of the GCA Peter Burks said: "We're delighted Iain was available to take up the post on an interim basis as we need extra help with our e-learning initiative.

"He was an obvious choice as he is very well-known and respected in the industry. He also has a great deal of expertise and knowledge, and is already on the executive committee so is very experienced in the ways of the GCA."

"I have asked Iain to stay on until the GCA Conference in January and he is more than happy to do this if his employment situation doesn't change before then. One of his specific roles will be to look at the job specification for our new Chief Executive."
