Husband and wife retire from running DIY shop after 30 years
The husband and wife team opened the store in April 1984 and after a rewarding three decades serving generations of customers the couple took the hard decision to close the shop while they were fit and healthy enough to enjoy retirement.

The list of items the shop stocked was endless. Items included pet food, housewares, nuts, bolts, timber, gardening products, carpets, even kitchen sinks.

Speaking to diyweek.net Mr Hawksworth said: "We sold everything you could think of and everything you would expect a DIY store to stock. We were reliable and built a good relationship with the local customers.

"We will miss the shop and the customers, of course. They have been a massive part of our lives for the past 30 years."
