QEP's Homelux brand has launched a quick and easy-to-fit Waterproofing Kit for permanently waterproofing tiled shower and bath areas.
It comprises wall matting, flexible joint tape and bath and shower seal, and solves the problem of tiling always being somewhat permeable even if traditional water-resistant grouts and waterproof tile adhesives and sealants are used.

Tiling joints are also vulnerable to normal building subsidence, drying of mastics and silicones and the movement of wooden or concrete floors, so a waterproof layer between substrate and tiling becomes even more critical.

Homelux Waterproofing Kits come in a choice of 5sq m and 10sq m, and once applied can be tiled over immediately. They come with a 10-year guarantee when installed in line with the instructions. RRPs are £100 and £150.
