Home Hardware Scotland sees 20% sales rise

Published: 17 November 2008
At a time when there is so much bad news in the marketplace and so many companies are struggling, it's a pleasure to report some good news. Home Hardware Scotland's autumn sales brochure has seen a like-for-like sales rise of 20.5% compared with last year – proving people are still spending.

The 16-page brochure was sent out to more than 330,000 households in Scotland and the north of England. Included were bargains such as a half price Dimplex oil radiator (£19.99) and a Black & Decker vacuum cleaner at just £49.99 - a saving of £100.

Plus, says Home Hardware Scotland, it wasn't just the customers who got a great deal, the average gross margin for members who took the autumn brochure was just over 38%.
