Stuart Blight, garden centre manager at Hillier Hemel Hempstead cycled 60 miles for Macmillan Cancer Support in four and a half hours.

Prior to the ride on Friday, October 12, Mr Blight told diyweek.net he hoped to finish it in five hours.

Mr Blight told diyweek.net he raised over £700 for Macmillan Cancer Support with more donations forthcoming.

He said: "It was great fun, and I could even walk okay the next day!

"I would like to thank everyone who helped in any way shape or form."

The course started at Hillier garden centre Winchester, going across Hampshire to Hillier garden centre at Liss then heading into West Sussex and on to Hillier garden centre at Horsham.

Mr Blight was accompanied by the manager of the Newbury site, Nick Robey; while operations manager Mark Pitman followed in a support car.
