A head office expansion and creation of a state-of-the-art flagship store for The Range in Plymouth will bring in 700 jobs to the area.
Head office expansion and new flagship store for The Range
This huge project will take place as The Range celebrates its 25th anniversary this year and it is expected both the head office expansion and the new flagship store will cost in the region of £8m.

When the expansion of its head office is complete The Range will base its new National Training Academy on the site, where staff from The Range and other companies will be trained.

It is hoped the site will attract a stream of suppliers and sales reps from both the UK and overseas who will add to the local economy.

Owner and founder of The Range, Chris Dawson, said: "This is the single most exciting project that I have been involved in for a long time. The opportunity to commit my company's long-term future and head office jobs to Plymouth has been a dream of mine for some time now.

"As the store network continues to grow and we reach our 100th store, the business activities to support these operations, such as buying, logistics, marketing, IT, accounts, customer services and many more departments are all increasing in size on a regular basis.

"This project will provide me with enough space to grow these teams as well as consolidate a number of other business activities which currently take place across the country."

The new store will become the company's flagship and will be fitted to a high specification including a cafe and full product offering.

Mr Dawson adds: "The majority of these 700 jobs are high quality and involve specialist skills such as graphic design, writing software and product testing. The National Training Academy will be a centre of excellence which I hope will gain worldwide recognition. I will put Plymouth on the map as a place where national business can thrive."

Why is it that one store can get a brand new extension and another store, namely the one on York Road in Doncaster has to suffer a disgraceful state of toilets, which I might add, have been broken, dirty and not fit for purpose since January of this year.

Several people have reported this to the store who say they have forwarded this to head office.

There is a brand new cafe installed, but no toilets In that area, one has to use the disgraceful toilets at the other end of the store.

I am so disgusted with a store of this calibre to not mend the existing toilets, never mind provide new ones.  This says a lot about how customers are respected.

COME ON GET THE TOILETS IN DONASTER RANGE PUT RIGHT DO WE CAN SHOP COMFORTABLY?

There is a shortage of community facilities in North Plymouth. Will there be any possibility of  local Clubs (Rotary, Lions etc) to use part of the building near the canteen area in the proposed new 'Range" building in North Plymouth in the evenings?

I wonder if you can help as I've tried several stores to where I live in Kent for the Choc A Bloc cake mould it's a chocolate bar cake mould made of silicon, after phoning numerous stores with various answers I was told it was out of stock & wasn't listed to be replenished so I rang the head office who told me there were several stores in the north if England & Swansea in Wales who had it but we're unable to send one to me or to another more local store so I could collect it nor was I able to pay by card for it with postage & gave it sent to me, this obviously after phoning many stores & the head office was most frustrating & upsetting, is there no way you can make an exception in this case as good customer service please?
With thanks & looking forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience.

COMPENSATION REQUEST
This email is being sent out again with real disappoint that no one is bothered to reply in email or by phone. I purchased my items going back last year in May 2014 (see emails below). I have just spoken to a Martin ( he would not give his surname as he is the only one in the department) within your online customer service department unfortunately it is with regret to say that he was very rude, impolite, unhelpful with my query and did not at all escalate this matter just abruptly asked "if you want your compensation, I am not going to give you compensation, you have to write in, I said I have written many times and there has been no reply".
I have only been told again to email again to request for compensation in writing. I told him repeatedly I sent many emails regarding this situation and no one has replied. I even went to the shop in Milton Keynes and they told me they would not do anything about it, that I have to speak to you online.
Your service is appalling for a start, the staff are rude, your customer complaints department do not look into what is happening with the transition of orders after they have left the store or depot. For example has the customer received there goods in time? The depot staff were rude, Why are you not communicating with each other? I as a customer purchased items that I liked with the dignity to pay online with my card otherwise I would not be able to purchase them. I equally as a customer also in return expected the goods to be delivered to me on time and not treated with disrespect by members of staff.
How hard is it to get through to you all?? It's unbearable ! This is not the way to treat a potential customer.
I will appreciate it if someone would call me or email me with regards to this matter. I look forward to speaking to you soon.

Regards
