Haxnicks garden accessories, which range from Victorian-style bell and tunnel cloches to plant supports and protectors, have been distributed exclusively in the UK, France and Germany by Smart Solar since September 2012.

Tildenet specialises in netting products that include horticultural fleece, plant supports, ground cover and fencing.

"Whilst we're sorry to lose this excellent portfolio of products, we decided that our strategic and product development focus should be on our own brands rather than those of third parties," explained Smart Solar managing director Jonathan Stobart.

"We're delighted that Tildenet will be taking over and feel sure they will give Haxnicks the enthusiastic support and investment that it richly deserves. We wish them all success with it going forward."

Andrew Downey, Tildenet's managing director, added: "We have admired the innovation, enthusiasm and product range from the Haxnicks team over the years and are looking forward to developing the brand and product range in the coming years."
