Habitat to boost Homebase concession presence

Published: 7 September 2015
Home furnishings retailer Habitat is reportedly poised for significant expansion.
Habitat to boost Homebase concession presence
Part of Home Retail Group (HRG) along with Argos and Homebase, Habitat is looking to increase its floor space by 25% by the end of the year, according to The Telegraph.

HRG has gradually been growing Habitat's presence, mostly within Homebase stores. There were 35 concessions at the start of HRG's financial year in March, and there are now 65. The 15 more set to open between now and December will bring the total to 80.

Habitat managing director Clare Askem told The Telegraph: "Habitat is accessible to everybody and we appeal to people who are confident about their tastes.

"There will be ongoing investment into the brand. Now is a good time as retail spend is growing again and people feel more confident to take on bigger projects in the home."

HRG bought Habitat in 2011 after the iconic retailer collapsed into administration.
