Grange Fencing acquires Metpost

Published: 1 September 2009
Grange acquires assets of fence post brand from Expamet for an undisclosed sum.
The deal, which completed on August 28, saw Grange Fencing agree to acquire the goodwill and assets of Metpost from Expamet Building Products Ltd for an undisclosed sum.

For 30 years, Metpost has been the market leader in fence post supports and accessories, and since its invention in 1974, in excess of 80 million patented spikes have now been sold worldwide. The name "Metpost" remains synonymous with the metal fence post spike.

Grange's managing director, Duncan Hill, said: "We are very pleased to be acquiring this well known and respected business. This acquisition is consistent with our strategy and will fit well with our existing operations. We look forward to welcoming Metpost customers to Grange and extending to them the excellent on-time-in-full service that our existing customers receive."

The acquisition of Metpost follows on from the successful acquisition of Weston Fencing in 2008 and Britannia Garden Products in 2006.

Thank goodness, at least with a metpost you have a good chance of driving in straight! Has anyone ever tried to fit a Grange post anchor straight!!
