GIMA shows support for DIY Week Awards

Published: 9 September 2011
DIY Week is delighted to add the Garden Industry Manufacturers Association (GIMA) to a growing list of sponsors for the 2011 DIY Week Awards.
GIMA shows support for DIY Week Awards
The organisation is sponsoring two categories - Garden Accessory Product of the Year and Garden Fertiliser/Chemical of the Year.

GIMA director Neil Gow said: "Innovation is critical to the future of our industry and is a key driver to help retailers grow their sales. Therefore GIMA is very pleased to support the garden categories of these awards, which recognise the creativity of suppliers in bringing new products to market.

"These awards also recognise the retailers who are selling products and creating market growth in challenging market conditions. The consumer is still gardening during this recession, as they have done in previous difficult economic times, and therefore the opportunities for suppliers and retailers to increase sales are there. Garden products are an important sector for builders merchants, DIY and hardware markets and retailers should look carefully at the products GIMA members have available to them."

The DIY Week Awards will bring together the whole of the DIY and garden market: DIY superstores, hardware independents, garden centres, suppliers, manufacturers and wholesalers, and will take place at the Deansgate Hilton in Manchester on Thursday, November 24. To find out more about sponsorship opportunities, call Rachael Lyon on 020 8651 7081.
