GIMA launches £5,000 innovator's seed corn fund
According to GIMA the UK garden industry is worth £4.9b and by 2018 is expected to grow to £5.6b, but the organisation believes there is a need to encourage new businesses, designers and innovators to enter the market.

So, GIMA has launched a competition for an individual or company to win £5,000 worth of funding.

The winning entry will receive help with the development and marketing of their product, along with support from experts within the industry.

GIMA director, Vicky Nuttall, said: "GIMA is keen to encourage new entrants into the market, and as such we have put together a package of support that will enable new companies to navigate their way through the nuances of our industry.

"We see it as providing the necessary injection of new blood into an already established industry."

Applications are now being taken. Closing date for entries is June 20, with the winner being announced at GLEE in September.

To apply or for more information call the GIMA office on 01959 564947 or email info@gima.org.uk.
