Garden Centre Group to close Shiplake Nursery

Published: 18 January 2010
After months of speculation, it is confirmed that the Henley-based garden centre has been sold to an unnamed buyer and will close at the end of the month.
Recent news reports have revealed that Shiplake Nursery and Garden Centre has been sold by parent company, the Garden Centre Group, and will close its doors for the last time at the end of January.

According to a report in local paper, the Henley Standard, The Garden Centre Group denied rumours of a sale for some time, but have now confirmed the acquisition of the centre in Reading Road by an unnamed individual.

Staff at the centre appear to have been kept in the dark, with concerns raised when stock was no longer being replenished and concessions began to close. They were finally informed of the Garden Centre Group's decision to close the centre just last week.
