Essential reading for retailers and suppliers in the home improvement market

For Safety's sake, use a Grass Snake!

Published: 22 May 2007
Garden centres, DIY outlets, catalogue stores and online shops are now stocking the Grass Snake Cable Grip - the unique new garden power and DIY accessory that helps users avoid severed cables, trips and falls when using electric garden equipment and power tools.
For Safety's sake, use a Grass Snake!
The Grass Snake Cable Grip acts as a safe and simple hands-free cable tidy for use with electric lawn mowers, grass trimmers, hedge trimmers, lawn vacuums, chainsaws, DIY power tools - and even vacuum and industrial cleaners. It is being racked alongside electric garden equipment, merchandised on clip-strips and promoted in pre-loaded POS counter-top cartons beside checkout tills, and is also a perfect catalogue or novelty gift item.

Wyevale Garden Centres are already selling the product, which has a recommended retail price of £3.99 and is the first in a range of ten Grass Snake-branded products. It will be shown on stand A55 in Hall 5 at GLEE 2007.

"Grass Snake Limited is a start-up company which has no intention of remaining a single-product business," said Grass Snake's distributor Paul Davis. "Innovative new products coming on-stream this year include a sister accessory for the Cable Grip, a clever new device for the nursery plant sales sector, and a unique product for the construction industry."

The Grass Snake Cable Grip was a double winner at The Industry Awards 2007 organised by DIY Week, Housewares Magazine and Hardware & Garden Review, winning Silver Awards in both the Garden Equipment category (sponsored by the Garden Industry Manufacturers' Association) and the Hardware category (sponsored by Home Hardware SouthWest). Winners were announced at the Awards Lunch at the Royal Lancaster Hotel, London on 11 May - when Alan Dedicoat, 'the voice of the National Lottery', announced it to be his favourite product during the Product Preview.
