Floors-2-Go enters administration for the third time

Published: 21 July 2014
Wood flooring expert Floors-2-Go has entered into administration for the third time since 2008.
Floors-2-Go enters administration for the third time
Worcestershire-based administrator MB Insolvency has been appointed to handle the administration.

Floors-2-Go first entered into administration in 2008 when it was owned by private equity firm Alchemy Partners.

However, the troubled chain then fell into administration again in 2011.

Kevin Lapthorn, managing director of Green Tree Distribution, told diyweek.net he was owed thousands by the company.

He said: "We have been left totally in the dark by all of this. We have been bombarded with calls from customers wanting to know where their orders are.

"I have 150 orders sitting here waiting to be delivered, but I can't release them until I've been paid."

Same old excuses... They all should be hauled against a court. No cash to pay supplier or customer refunds as too busy paying for swimming pools and tennis courts on private accounts. Glad I got out when I did.
Floors2go should be cut off as a trading name

After giving up on chasing my order with floors to go I eventually got my money back. We paid a deposit with Visa and got that refunded via the bank, and had the credit agreement torn up after getting in touch with Omni Capital directly who were really helpful
If you paid on your card go to your bank and they will have a process for refunding money if goods not received

I put in an order, online, on April 21st 2014; unds left my account the same day, yet I have never received any materials. I have spent so many hours on phone and websites, email, but to no avail. The bank can do nothing, Floors2Go will do nothing, PayPal can't do anything, either. I can't start my sitting room floor as I have half the flooring I need. seven and a half months now!

3100 order paid by debit card in January, on delivery date in June, I was told wood floors I ordered were out of stock, no information about the future availability. Cancelled the order and being told refund by cheque was on the way. After 2 months waiting, never received the cheque. Prepared to bring them to court, but who knows whether I am going to win the case? The new company who took over floors 2 go did not take the debts. Where do I stand now?

richard, unfortunately you are owed money by nixon and hope ltd, not f2g retail sales ltd despite the fact they are owned by the same people they are different companies so your only option is to go through the administrators. you're not the only person to have been screwed over by these crooks and you won't be the last i'm afraid.

It seems pretty straightforward to me. Martin Lewis, Money Saving Expert says claim from the credit card company. See this page

you may well get your floor if it was ordered within 3 months of the administration date. the staff aren't fobbing you off, they are just passing on the rubbish they have been told on the stock bulletin, i know this from experience as i worked for these jokers the last time they went into administration. if the hodges brothers get done for fraud and the company is wrapped up then you won't get your floor and you'll have to go for a chargeback on your credit card

Richard and Robert Hodges can't be launching the same business again, that's illegal! Hang on, they don't care, that's why they keep doing it

Dear any customers who have not had there goods or money back, information that floors2go are having a meeting in Birmingham tomorrow at Birmingham City football ground to launch there new business perhaps you should all go along and ask the previous and new owners where your goods are , if you ask for Richard and Robert hodges they might have the bottle to tell you where your money is, I here the police and other authorities could be attending after 100s of complaints of fraud
Good luck

We are also waiting for a 2000 order. However we put 200 deposit down and the rest via a credit agreement.

Does anyone know our rights regarding a refund? They say our order is being honored by the new owners but I don't trust a word they say

they really should be called fraud to go as Richard and Robert Hodges (the owners) are no strangers to ripping people off, operating illegally and lying through their teeth. The staff would have been left in the dark and drip fed information about "product shortages" or "supply chain issues" and left to deal with angry customers like yourselves with no answer to give you and no support. someone should report them to trading standards. i would suggest watchdog but they'd enjoy being on tv......

Paid cash 3200.00 beginning of june for my floor the kept spending the delivery date. Does anyone know the date they went into administration because its illegal to trade when in administration. This company transferred its assets and employees in March 14 so it looks like they prepared, they then sold the company they moved the assets too and went into administration with the company without any assests. The staff must have known about this. Also on the receipt if you paid vat did you get a vat number? they did not provide a vat number on mine so i am looking into that also. My email is lumber@sky.com if anyone wants to contact me.

Having worked for these crooks at the time of their previous administration where the company was "bought out" by a company owned by the same people I feel deeply sorry for any customer who has made a purchase from them in the last 3 months. I hated selling special order products because I got so tired of ringing the supplier to chase up an order, only to be told that it hadn't been paid for over a month after the customer had paid for it. It is a shame that most of the staff have been dropped in it as badly as most of the customers as the majority of them are decent people. Also, please bear in mind that debit card purchases are protected in the same way as credit card purchases so all is not lost

I am into my 8th week of waiting for a delivery that should have taken 2 weeks. Store manager fobbed me off at every phone call and visit to store and finally this weekend I lost it in store when i was told that they will not to provide any phone numbers for me to complain. Decided today to gain refund, only to be informed that I need to go through administrators. Made my life Hell....
Paid on credit Card so hope for full refund.
