DIY Week Awards judging panels revealed

A host of experienced buyers and key representatives from across the DIY and garden industry will participate in judging the product and retailer categories for the 2016 awards.
DIY Week Awards judging panels revealed
The judging panel for product categories comprises:

  • BHETA home improvement sector director, Paul Grinsell

  • Robert Dyas senior trader DIY category, Andrew Georgiou

  • Homebase buying manager, Gary Shields

  • Wilko buyer DIY, John Cosford

  • Reeds of Wantage joint owner, Ian Mead

  • Home Hardware Southwest DIY product manager, Paul Andrews

  • Squires director of purchasing Darran Oakley

  • Wyevale category manager Mairi Devlin

  • This panel will be responsible for judging products entered into the nine product categories, including Power Tool of the Year, Garden Tool of the Year, DIY product of the Year and Decorating Product of the Year.

    The judging panel for retailer entries comprises:

  • Henkel channel manager Paul Bagnall

  • BIRA Direct director of buying Steve Akers

  • Industry consultant and Rainy Day Trust trustee Colin Petty

  • Stax operations manager Nigel Wright

  • GCA chief executive Ian Wylie

  • Wilbys Home Hardware joint owner Tina Wilby

  • This panel will be responsible for judging submissions to the seven retailer categories, including Hardware Retailer of the Year, Garden Retailer of the Year, Security Retailer of the Year and Retail Communicator of the Year.
