DIY Week Awards a huge success

Published: 25 November 2011
The curtain has closed on the first ever DIY Week Awards, with the Gold winners announced at a glitzy evening event at the Manchester Hilton, Deansgate last night.
DIY Week Awards a huge success
Leading figures from across the DIY and garden industry were out in force to enjoy proceedings, which included a drinks reception, three course meal and entertainment from comedian Paul Tonkinson.

The all-important awards ceremony took place after dinner, with accolades given to a host of top products and Britain's best retailers in a number of categories. An after-dinner casino topped the night off, with Tom Sands from EG taking top prize for having the most chips at the end of the night, while a Rainy Day Trust collection raised more than £1,200, as industry members dug deep for the charity. A generous gesture from Crown's Joe Devitt, saw him up the total to £1,500.

The list of winners can be found here.

Full coverage of the awards will be included in the December 2 issue of DIY Week.

Excellent event, other organisations should look and take note, how an awards bash is done properly.

Well done
