Mayor of Croydon Eddy Arram performed the opening ceremony for the outlet, which is on Peall Road.

Leeds-based Al-Murad Tiles claims to be Britain's largest independent ceramic tiles and natural stone importer and retailer. Trading for more than 25 years, the business now has over 40 stores plus 30 family-run franchises throughout the UK.

It specialises in ceramic tiles and natural stone from around the world, offering travertine, granite, marble, limestone, glass, porcelain, mosaic, slate, man-made stone and underfloor heating, along with adhesives and tile accessories.

The company recently opened a new showroom and distribution depot in Leeds, with a 120,000sq ft warehouse holding over 10m tiles.

Along with tiles, the new Croydon store offers a range of laminate flooring and bathroom accessories.
