Courts rule: Vax vacuum cleaner did not infringe Dyson design
The High Court ruled that the Mach Zen cylinder vacuum cleaner by Vax did not infringe the registered design of the DC02 - the first cylinder cleaner made by Dyson, in 1994.

Following the ruling, Dyson commented: "For Dyson, this case was about pure aesthetic design, not function, and the judgement is disappointing."

Vax said that its British-designed Mach Zen was different to any other vacuum cleaner in the marketplace.
