The annual meeting of the Garden Industry Manufacturers Association (GIMA) will take place on Thursday, March 13 before its regular Business Meeting.

All full members who have paid their 2008 subscriptions are eligible to attend.

Associate members and guests are also welcome, but cannot take part in the meeting or vote.

The Business Meeting starts at 12pm and kicks off with a talk, 'What is in the future - how do we know the risks' from Jon Whiteley, group chief executive of Rixon Matthews Appleyard - Insurance Brokers and Risk Managers.

He will be followed by retail business development advisor, Alistair Lorimer. A former buying and marketing director of Blooms of Bressingham, Mr Lorimer will be discussing the recently published Pricewaterhouse Coopers report, 'Retailing 2015 - New Frontiers' and its implications for the garden industry.

The GIMA Awards will also be officially launched at the meeting. The deadline for entries is June 20 with the Gala Dinner and Presentation Evening on July 17.

The Business Meeting takes place at the Henley Golf and Country Club, Henley-in-Arden, Warwickshire.
