Cowell's Garden Centre manager Martin Cowell says preparations for a sub-four hour marathon have him in good spirits for London's premier race meeting.
Cowell's Garden Centre manager Martin Cowell is making final preparations for his bid to run a sub-four hour London Marathon.

He ran his first marathon in 2006 in a time of four hours three minutes, and this time has set his sights on going one step further.

With just over two weeks to go, Mr Cowell told diyweek.net training has gone well, and he has come through tough mental and physical barriers so he can raise £3,000 for St Oswald's Hospice.

He said: I've been training hard along the Northumberland coast and after completing a 20-mile run in my target time, I hope, if conditions suit, I can finish the race in record time – sub 3 hours 45 minutes."

Mr Cowell has raised £1,167.56 so far.
