Published: 9 December 2019 - John King

A Bradford Garden Centre has donated a Christmas tree to a Leeds school for pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs.

The team at Tong Garden Centre donated a three metre tree that pupils and visitors to Springwell Academy will use to share their Christmas wishes.

Speaking of Tong's generous donation, Sophie Lee, administration assistant at the Seacroft school said: "We're delighted that Tong Garden Centre have been able to donate a Christmas tree with lights. We are now able to provide the opportunity to create a Springwell family wish tree where our children and visitors can add their wishes."

Tong's centre manager, Andy Mears said: "The Christmas wish tree is a wonderful way of bringing families and the community together to share hopes and wishes and we're delighted that we were able to help.

"This wonderful donation from Tong will have a real impact on the families we support and help them feel part of our community this Christmas." concluded Ms. Lee.

Springwell Leeds is a specialist academy that serves the whole of Leeds. It provides care and education for 300 children and young people.

Tong Garden Centre occupies a 14 acre site in Tong village. It is one of Yorkshire's biggest garden centres with 110,000 square feet of retail space and parking for up to 700 cars.
