The new face of BHS - an all-new website selling the retailer's most popular lines - has officially gone live.

The newly re-launched website has announced it is sourcing products from 23 suppliers, all of whom are UK-based. Its call centre will be based in Glasgow and run by well-known British call centre firm Ascenos.

The product range currently encompasses lighting, bedroom and bathroom with an offer of free standard delivery. In October the range will increase to kitchen, dining ware as well as clothing.

The re-launched website employs 84 people, primarily based in London. The website promises it is "firmly on track" to be ready for Black Friday and Christmas sales. As part of this it has implemented a new IT platform to support the company's operations including ecommerce, back office and logistics systems which it claims are fully tested, secure and scalable.

Managing director of BHS International David Anderson, who is overseeing the launch, said: "A huge amount of work has gone into rebuilding and launching BHS back into the UK as an online retailer.  With a loyal British customer base of well over one million people and the fact that we have secured contracts with so many leading suppliers who are providing products that were among the most popular with our shoppers, we are in the best possible position for launch.”

In June 2016, BHS International (UK) Limited, which was formed by The Al Mana Group, acquired BHS.com, the International franchise business, and the BHS brand.
