The British Home Enhancement Trade Association (BHETA) is set to team up with UK multi-channel retailer Argos for another of its Meet the Buyer days.
The event will be exclusive to BHETA members and will take place on February 19 at the Holiday Inn, Milton Keynes.

The buying team at the event will include all categories and will be headed up by Argos trading manager Yvonne Stinston. The format of the event means that participating members are allocated a 20-25 minute appointment with the relevant buyer, where they are able to present based on a templated presentation format, supplied to them ahead of time by BHETA, to ensure that the limited time is put to maximum use.

Argos boasts 750 stores located within a 10-mile radius of 90% of the UK population and the nation's third most visited website. The multi-channel retailer is looking to increase its SKU base significantly and wants to see new suppliers of both branded and own-label products that would enhance its current consumer offer. Existing Argos suppliers are also welcome, but would need to focus on new products outside of current listed business, say BHETA.

BHETA home enhancement sector director Will Jones said: "This is a unique opportunity for new and existing Argos suppliers and, as such, is sure to attract a big response. There will also be a limit to the number of people that can be accommodated on the day and the BHETA team need to plan the event schedule well in advance. I would therefore urge all interested suppliers to contact BHETA as soon as possible with a view to confirming the category or categories of interest.

"We will do our upmost to accommodate all interested members but it may prove necessary to select participants by lottery. This would be with a view to securing a further event to accommodate any initially unsuccessful parties as early as possible. We therefore need to receive initial applications no later than January 16."
